Meade County Fire Protection District, founded in 1994 as a
funding mechanism for our parent organization, the Meade
County Fire Department, has been providing fire protection and
rescue services to Meade County residents since 1957.
With a history of dedicated and self less service to our friends
and neighbors, we continue to build on a solid foundation and
prepare for a bright and exciting future.
While our past is important and full of tradition, our focus is on
providing the very best fire prevention, fire suppression, rescue
and medical first response service to our customers today and
into the future.
Currently MCFPD provides primary fire, rescue, extrication,
medical first response, fire prevention and inspections and other
services to a sixty square mile area in Meade County Kentucky.
The City of Brandenburg, the communities of Doe Valley,
Weldon, Rock Ridge, Midway, Rock Haven, Weldon and parts of
the Garrett community all receive services from our District
Firefighters. With a strong automatic and mutual aid program
throughout Meade County, our firefighters train and work with
other area firefighters and Emergency Services providers to
maintain a strong, safe community.
Our current staff consists of a career Fire Chief and sixty five
non-career dedicated men and women who serve with distention
and pride. Current members come from all walks of life including
career firefighters from Hardin and Jefferson Counties, career
police officers, correction officers, independent business men
and women, tradesmen, homemakers, Paramedics and EMT’s,
college students, retired and active duty military members.
Our District firefighters are your friends and neighbors who train
and prepare to provide a vital community service to you in time of
emergency. We are always looking for new, motivated and
dedicated firefighters. If you are interested in serving as a
firefighter please download an application, fill it out and stop by
Station 1 during normal business hours and I will be glad to tell
you more about our program.
Please feel free to contact our office should you have any
concerns about fire safety. The number to call in Meade County
to report a fire or other emergency is 911. Have a safe day.
Sincerely,
Larry Naser
