The Meade County Fire Protection District is located in Meade County, KY, just 25
miles south-west of Louisville, KY, 17 miles south of Corydon IN, and just minutes from
Ft. Knox, KY. Bordered by the Ohio River, Meade County is very diversified with
single family dwellings, multiple occumpancy apartments, industrial facilities,
commercial & retail centers and complexes. Several state highways criss-cross
through Meade County, including rail lines and over 23 miles of waterfront.
MCFD is a combo-department. MCFD has two fire stations that provides services to
over 50 square miles, as well as mutual aid to neighboring agencies when requested.
Station 1 is located in Brandenburg, KY. Station 2 is located in Doe Valley.
MCFD provides many community services including Fire Protection, Vehicle Rescue,
Haz-Mat, and BLS Medical Support.
MCFD also provides many Fire Prevention Services, including residential and
commercial inspections, public education, facility pre plan, among other prevention
services.
MCFD is developing a Technical Rescue Team that will respond to may types of
technical rescues, such as trench/confined space, water, rope, and other technical
rescues.

| PLEASE REMEMBER: IT IS FIRE SEASON!! There is no open burning within the county of Meade, until after the hours of 6 PM EST. Prior to burning, you should contact Meade County Dispatch on their non-emergency line at (270)422-4911. It is important to remember that once you start burning you must monitor your burn until it is fully extinguished. |
